Specialist Pulmonologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of pulmonary and respiratory conditions

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory diseases

• Manage patients with asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and other respiratory infections

• Assess and manage patients with interstitial lung diseases and other complex pulmonary conditions

• Evaluate patients with chronic cough, dyspnea, and other respiratory symptoms

• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests where qualified

• Perform or assist with appropriate respiratory procedures within the candidate’s scope of expertise

• Manage patients with sleep-related breathing disorders where applicable

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient respiratory care

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Monitor treatment response and adjust management accordingly

• Provide patient education regarding respiratory conditions and treatment

• Collaborate with critical care physicians, radiologists, surgeons, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Pulmonology / Respiratory Medicine

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pulmonology

• Significant experience in managing a broad range of pulmonary and respiratory conditions

• Strong clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient respiratory care

• Eligibility for Specialist-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
