Requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of ear, nose, throat, and related head and neck conditions

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ear disorders, including infections, hearing-related conditions, tinnitus, and balance disorders

• Assess and manage nasal and sinus conditions, including allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal obstruction, and recurrent infections

• Diagnose and manage throat, tonsillar, voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders

• Perform appropriate diagnostic ENT procedures, including nasal endoscopy and flexible or rigid laryngoscopy

• Assess patients with hearing loss and coordinate appropriate audiological evaluation and management

• Manage common ENT conditions requiring medical or procedural treatment

• Perform appropriate minor and surgical ENT procedures within the approved scope of practice

• Assess and manage patients presenting with epistaxis, foreign bodies, infections, and other ENT emergencies

• Evaluate neck masses and other head and neck abnormalities and coordinate appropriate investigations and referrals

• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic investigations

• Provide appropriate preoperative and postoperative patient care where required

• Provide appropriate inpatient consultations and outpatient ENT services

• Coordinate care with audiologists, speech and language therapists, pulmonologists, neurologists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Provide clear patient education and counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Recognised specialist qualification in Otolaryngology / ENT / Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

• Appropriate postgraduate training and certification in ENT / Otolaryngology

• Relevant post-specialisation clinical experience in ENT

• Significant experience managing a broad range of acute and chronic ENT conditions

• Strong experience in outpatient ENT practice and diagnostic procedures

• Experience in inpatient and emergency ENT care

• Eligibility for Specialist-level licensing with DOH or the relevant UAE healthcare regulatory authority

• Required specialty/title: ENT – Specialist
