Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery.

• Perform a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures within the candidate’s area of expertise.

• Manage complex soft tissue, skin, and facial conditions requiring surgical intervention.

• Perform reconstructive procedures following trauma, burns, cancer surgery, congenital conditions, and other acquired defects.

• Provide appropriate pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, and post-operative care.

• Perform procedures such as skin grafts, flap surgery, scar revision, and soft tissue reconstruction where qualified.

• Evaluate patients seeking aesthetic procedures and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Monitor patients’ recovery and manage post-operative complications when required.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure appropriate follow-up.

• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthetists, oncologists, dermatologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.

• Contribute to teaching, training, and mentoring of junior medical staff where applicable.

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Plastic Surgery.

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including eligible ABMS certification, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board certification, or equivalent recognised qualification.

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

• Extensive experience in reconstructive and/or aesthetic plastic surgery.

• Strong experience managing complex surgical cases and post-operative care.

• Experience in microsurgery, flap surgery, skin grafting, or other advanced reconstructive techniques is desirable.

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, MOHAP, or the relevant UAE health authority.
