Consultant Pediatrician

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of pediatric medical conditions

• Provide comprehensive pediatric consultations and individualized treatment plans

• Manage acute and chronic illnesses in infants, children, and adolescents

• Monitor children's physical, developmental, and emotional health

• Assess and manage common pediatric conditions including respiratory, gastrointestinal, infectious, allergic, and developmental disorders

• Provide preventive pediatric care, including routine health assessments and screening

• Monitor growth, nutrition, and developmental milestones

• Provide appropriate immunization guidance and preventive health counselling

• Assess and manage pediatric patients presenting with acute and complex medical conditions

• Recognize conditions requiring specialist referral and coordinate appropriate multidisciplinary care

• Provide comprehensive counselling and education to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, development, and preventive care

• Develop individualized management plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings

• Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists and other healthcare professionals where required

• Provide appropriate follow-up and monitor treatment response and clinical progress

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and mentoring activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Pediatrics

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including eligible ABMS certification, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatrics

• Strong clinical experience in General Pediatrics

• Extensive experience managing pediatric patients across different age groups

• Experience in the assessment and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions

• Experience in preventive pediatric care, growth and developmental assessment, and routine pediatric health management

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
