Consultant Pediatric Neurologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric neurological conditions

• Diagnose and manage epilepsy and seizure disorders in children and adolescents

• Assess and manage developmental delays and neurological developmental disorders

• Diagnose and manage neuromuscular disorders and movement disorders

• Manage pediatric headaches, migraines, and other neurological pain conditions

• Assess and manage cerebral palsy and related neurological conditions

• Diagnose and manage neurogenetic and metabolic neurological disorders

• Evaluate children with abnormal movements, weakness, sensory disturbances, and loss of developmental milestones

• Interpret EEG, neuroimaging, laboratory, and other relevant neurological investigations

• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on clinical progress

• Provide counselling and education to children and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care

• Coordinate care with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, geneticists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology care

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and mentoring activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Pediatric Neurology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatric Neurology

• Significant experience managing a broad range of pediatric neurological and developmental disorders

• Strong clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
