Consultant Pediatric Allergist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric allergic and immunologic conditions

• Diagnose and manage food, drug, environmental, and insect-related allergies

• Assess and manage allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, and other atopic conditions

• Diagnose and manage urticaria, angioedema, and other allergic skin disorders

• Assess and manage children with recurrent or severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis

• Perform and interpret appropriate allergy testing, including skin prick and specific IgE testing

• Develop individualized allergy management and prevention plans

• Provide appropriate assessment and management of food allergies and intolerances

• Diagnose and manage primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders where applicable

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

• Provide patient and family education regarding allergy avoidance, emergency management, and treatment

• Coordinate care with pediatricians, pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT specialists, dietitians, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient pediatric allergy services

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and mentoring activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology / Pediatric Allergology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology

• Significant experience managing a broad range of pediatric allergic and immunologic conditions

• Strong clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric allergy

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
