Consultant Neurologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurological assessment, diagnosis, and management

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic neurological conditions

• Manage patients with stroke, epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases

• Assess and manage patients with neuromuscular and peripheral nerve disorders

• Evaluate patients with cognitive, behavioral, and other neurological disorders

• Perform and interpret appropriate neurological investigations

• Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment plans

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient neurology care

• Coordinate care with neurosurgeons, radiologists, psychiatrists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams

• Provide patient and family counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Neurology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Neurology

• Significant clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of neurological conditions

• Strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient neurology

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
