Consultant Neurologist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of neurological conditions

• Manage complex neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and neuromuscular conditions

• Perform comprehensive neurological examinations and clinical assessments

• Interpret and correlate neurological investigations, including MRI, CT, EEG, and EMG/NCS where appropriately qualified

• Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans based on clinical findings and investigations

• Manage acute neurological presentations and provide appropriate emergency care

• Provide follow-up and long-term management for patients with chronic neurological conditions

• Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams

• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings

• Provide patient and family counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and educational activities where required
  
  

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Neurology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Neurology

• Strong experience managing complex neurological conditions

• Fellowship or subspecialty training in areas such as Stroke, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, or Neurophysiology is highly desirable

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
