Consultant Hematology & Oncology

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of hematological and oncological conditions

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of hematological malignancies and solid tumors

• Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment plans

• Provide systemic anti-cancer treatment and supportive oncology care within the candidate’s area of expertise

• Monitor treatment response, disease progression, and treatment-related complications

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology care

• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions

• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists

• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families throughout the treatment journey

• Interpret relevant laboratory, pathological, and imaging investigations

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Hematology & Oncology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Hematology & Oncology

• Significant clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of hematological and oncological conditions

• Strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
