Consultant Hematologist & Oncologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of hematological and oncological conditions

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of benign and malignant hematological disorders

• Manage hematological malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions

• Manage patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other systemic treatments

• Provide pre-transplant assessment and clinical evaluation of eligible patients

• Manage patients undergoing Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

• Provide post-transplant follow-up and management of transplant-related complications

• Monitor treatment response and disease progression

• Manage complications related to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and transplantation

• Collaborate with transplant specialists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical case discussions

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Hematology & Oncology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Hematology & Oncology

• Significant experience in the diagnosis and management of hematological and oncological conditions

• Strong experience in the management of hematologic malignancies

• Significant experience in Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) / Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)

• Experience in managing patients before and after bone marrow transplantation

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
