Consultant ENT Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of ear, nose, throat, and related head and neck conditions

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ear disorders, including hearing loss, infections, tinnitus, and balance-related conditions

• Assess and manage nasal and sinus disorders, including chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal obstruction, and related conditions

• Diagnose and manage throat, voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders

• Perform appropriate diagnostic ENT procedures, including nasal endoscopy and flexible or rigid laryngoscopy

• Perform a broad range of elective and emergency ENT surgical procedures

• Perform appropriate otologic, rhinologic, and upper airway procedures within the scope of clinical expertise

• Manage tonsillar, adenoidal, and other common ENT conditions requiring surgical intervention

• Assess and manage patients with sleep-related upper airway disorders where appropriate

• Evaluate neck masses and other head and neck abnormalities and coordinate further investigation and management

• Manage ENT emergencies, including epistaxis, airway-related conditions, infections, and foreign bodies

• Develop individualized medical and surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic investigations

• Provide appropriate preoperative assessment, counselling, and postoperative care

• Coordinate care with audiologists, speech and language therapists, pulmonologists, neurologists, oncologists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Provide appropriate inpatient consultations and outpatient ENT services

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and mentoring activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Otolaryngology / ENT / Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

• Tier 1 specialist qualification is required, such as an eligible ABMS certification, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, or another recognised Tier 1 qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in ENT / Otolaryngology

• Significant experience managing a broad range of medical and surgical ENT conditions

• Strong experience in both elective and emergency ENT care

• Demonstrated experience in outpatient, inpatient, and operative ENT practice

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DOH or the relevant UAE healthcare regulatory authority

• Required specialty/title: ENT – Consultant

• Tier 1 Consultant qualification is mandatory
