Consultant Dermatologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of dermatological conditions

• Diagnose and manage common and complex skin, hair, and nail disorders

• Manage inflammatory and autoimmune skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis

• Diagnose and manage acne, rosacea, pigmentation disorders, and other common dermatological conditions

• Assess and manage skin infections, allergic skin conditions, and occupational dermatological disorders

• Evaluate and manage suspicious skin lesions and provide appropriate treatment or referral

• Perform dermatological procedures and minor surgical interventions where appropriate

• Perform skin biopsies and other diagnostic procedures as required

• Manage patients with chronic and complex dermatological conditions

• Interpret relevant laboratory, histopathology, and diagnostic investigations

• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, skincare, prevention, and long-term disease management

• Coordinate care with plastic surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, rheumatologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient dermatology care

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching, training, and mentoring activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Dermatology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Dermatology

• Significant experience in managing a broad range of medical and complex dermatological conditions

• Strong clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient dermatology

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
