Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant in Critical Care with Cardiac ICU and ECMO expertise to join a leading tertiary healthcare institution in Al Ain, UAE.

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care for critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), including the management of multi-organ failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, hemodynamic instability, advanced cardiac conditions, and complex post-operative cardiac surgery cases. The role involves leading multidisciplinary critical care teams, overseeing advanced life support and ECMO (VA and VV) services, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based intensive care. The Consultant will also contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and the advancement of critical care and cardiac ICU services within the institution.

   Requirments

  • Recognised specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent subspecialty with Critical Care training (e.g. CCT, CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, or equivalent recognised by UAE health authorities)
  • Subspecialty experience in Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) management with proven expertise in advanced cardiac critical care
  • Mandatory experience in ECMO (Veno-venous and/or Veno-arterial ECMO) management, including initiation, troubleshooting, and weaning
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Consultant-level experience in Critical Care Medicine within a tertiary or quaternary care hospital
  • Strong expertise in managing complex critically ill cardiac patients, including post-cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure cases
  • Proficiency in advanced life support and multi-organ failure management in ICU settings
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary critical care environments
