Consultant Cardiologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular assessment, diagnosis, and management

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions

• Manage patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease

• Assess and manage patients with hypertension and cardiovascular risk factors

• Perform and interpret appropriate cardiac investigations, including ECG, echocardiography, and stress testing

• Evaluate patients with chest pain, palpitations, dyspnea, and other cardiovascular symptoms

• Develop personalised, evidence-based treatment plans

• Provide appropriate inpatient and outpatient cardiology care

• Manage acute cardiac presentations and provide timely intervention where required

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

• Provide cardiovascular risk assessment and preventive care

• Coordinate care with cardiac surgeons, internal medicine specialists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary teams

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Cardiology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Cardiology

• Significant clinical experience in managing a broad range of cardiovascular conditions

• Strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
