Consultant Allergy & Immunology

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of allergic and immunological disorders

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of allergic conditions, including respiratory, food, drug, and environmental allergies

• Assess and manage asthma and other allergy-related respiratory conditions

• Diagnose and manage immune system disorders and immunodeficiency conditions

• Perform and interpret relevant allergy tests and immunological investigations

• Develop personalised treatment and long-term management plans

• Provide appropriate pharmacological and immunological therapies

• Perform relevant allergy and immunology procedures within the candidate’s area of expertise

• Monitor patients’ clinical progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

• Manage complex and chronic allergic and immunological conditions

• Provide patient education regarding allergy prevention, treatment, and long-term disease management

• Coordinate care with other medical specialists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental development initiatives

• Support teaching and training activities where required

Qualifications

• Board certification or recognised specialist qualification in Allergy & Immunology

• Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Allergy & Immunology

• Significant clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of allergic and immunological disorders

• Strong experience in allergy testing and immunological investigations

• Experience managing complex allergic conditions and immune-related disorders

• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP

• Candidates with a recognised Allergy qualification/licensing background are preferred
